Avaada Electro recently announced
the operationalisation of a 3 GW solar
cell production line at its manufacturing
facility in Butibori, Nagpur, Maharash-
tra, as part of its plans to expand its
solar manufacturing capacity.
The production line forms part of the
company's 6 GW high-efficiency solar
cell manufacturing facility, which is
being developed as a key step towards
Avaada
Electro's
broader
goal
of
achieving 12 GW of solar cell capacity.
In a statement, the company said it has
advanced its 6 GW high-efficiency
N-Type TOPCon solar cell manufactur-
ing facility at its integrated solar manu-
facturing complex in Butibori.
The operationalisation of the new line
marks a significant milestone in Avaada
Electro's efforts to strengthen domestic
solar manufacturing capabilities and
scale up production of advanced solar
cell technologies.

State-owned power producer NTPC
Ltd. has approved an investment of
₹20,456.70 crore for the development of
the 1,600 MW Lara Super Thermal
Power Project Stage-III in Chhattisgarh.
In a regulatory filing on Saturday, the
company said its Board of Directors, at
a meeting held on July 11, approved the
investment proposal for the Stage-III
expansion of the Lara project, which
will comprise two 800 MW units.
"The Board of Directors of NTPC
Limited in its meeting held today, i.e.
July 11, 2026, has, inter alia, approved
the investment proposal for Lara Super
Thermal
Power
Project,
Stage-III
(2x800 MW) at the current estimated
cost of ₹20,456.70 crore," the company
said in the filing.
The approval comes as NTPC continues
to strengthen its thermal generation
capacity while enhancing operational
flexibility to support the country's evol-
ving power mix. On June 5, the compa-
ny invited bids from technology solu-
tion providers to help its sub-critical
thermal power units operate efficiently
at lower loads, enabling greater integra-
tion of renewable energy into the
electricity grid.

KEC International Ltd has secured
new orders worth ₹1,180 crore across
its transmission and distribution (T&D),
renewables, civil, and cables & conduc-
tors businesses, including its first trans-
mission line project to support power
evacuation for a data centre in India.
The latest order wins have taken the
company's financial year 2027 (FY27)
year-to-date order intake beyond ₹5,200
crore, strengthening its project pipeline
across domestic and international mar-
kets.
In the T&D segment, KEC International
has secured a 400 kV transmission line
project in Western India for evacuating
power to a data centre. The company
has also received orders for supplying
transmission line towers in the Middle
East, along with towers, hardware and
poles for projects in the Americas.
The company's renewables business has
won a 200+ MW solar photovoltaic
project in Western India from an
existing private sector customer. Its
civil business has secured additional
civil and structural works for a 150 MW
thermal power plant in Eastern India,
while the cables and conductors divi-
sion has received multiple domestic and
overseas orders.
The order win comes amid rising
demand for power infrastructure driven
by data centre expansion, renewable
energy capacity additions and grid
modernisation initiatives in India and
overseas markets.

dra Modi inaugurated SJVN’s 1,000
MW Bikaner Solar Power Project from
Pachpadra, Rajasthan, marking a major
milestone in India’s renewable energy
journey and reaffirming the country’s
commitment to clean energy and sus-
tainability goals.
The event was attended by several
dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Gov-
ernor of Rajasthan Shri Haribhau Kisan-
rao Bagde, Chief Minister Shri Bhajan
Lal Sharma, Union Minister of Power
and Housing & Urban Affairs Shri
Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Petro-
leum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep
Singh Puri, Union Minister of State
(Independent Charge) for Law & Justice
and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Arjun
Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan Deputy Chief

Senior officials of SJVN and its renew-
able arm SJVN Green Energy Limited

Developed by SJVN through SGEL in
Bikaner, the project has been executed
with an investment of around ₹5,492
crore across nearly 5,000 acres. It is
India’s largest single EPC solar project
under the Domestic Content Require-
ment (DCR) category at a single loca-
tion, highlighting the use of indigenous
manufacturing capabilities.

SWELECT Energy Systems Limited
has successfully commissioned a 4.40
MW solar power plant on July 3, 2026,
at V. Muthulingapuram village in Virud-
hunagar taluk, Virudhunagar district,
Tamil Nadu.
The plant is connected at the 33 kV
level to the 33/11 kV Naranapuram
substation.
According to the company, the power
generated from the project will be
supplied to a group of consumers under
a third-party power sale model through
intra-state open access in Tamil Nadu.
The commissioning marks another ad-
dition to SWELECT Energy Systems’
renewable energy portfolio in the state.
SWELECT ENERGY SYSTEMS COMMENCES OPERATIONS
OF 4.40 MW SOLAR FACILITY

Faridabad-based Omega Seiki Mobili-
ty (OSM), a manufacturer of electric
three-wheelers, is exploring a public
listing while seeking to raise around
₹125 crore through a pre-IPO funding
round, according to people familiar with
the development.
The company, known for its Rage+
cargo electric three-wheeler and Stream
City passenger electric three-wheeler, is
targeting an initial public offering (IPO)
by the end of the next financial year.
The ongoing funding round is expected
to be completed by the end of the
current quarter.
Investment bankers are valuing OSM at
around $175-225 million, factoring in
the company's projected revenue growth
and valuation benchmarks for electric
mobility firms.
The company has invested nearly ₹250
crore in manufacturing facilities across
the Delhi-NCR region and Pune as it
builds capacity to support its electric
vehicle expansion plans.

Powerica Limited has emerged as a
successful bidder in Gujarat Urja Vikas
Nigam Limited’s (GUVNL) e-reverse
auction for the procurement of power
from 250 MW grid-connected wind
power projects.
The company has secured a 50 MW
wind power project in the competitive
bidding process, with the electronic re-
verse auction concluding on July 9,
2026. Powerica’s discovered tariff was
₹3.51 per unit, reflecting a 2.77% varia-
tion from the tender’s start price.
The Letter of Award (LoA) is expected
to be issued to the company within the
timelines specified in the tender docu-
ment.
Following the award, Powerica will
enter into a direct Power Purchase
Agreement (PPA) with GUVNL for the
50 MW project. The power generated
from the project will help GUVNL meet
its Renewable Purchase Obligations
(RPO).
The company said it will leverage its
in-house engineering capabilities to
execute the wind project and ensure
completion within the timelines pre-
scribed under the tender framework.
POWERICA SECURES 50 MW WIND POWER PROJECT

The Central Transmission Utility of
India (CTUIL) has revoked connectivity
for 24 renewable energy (RE) develop-
ers, affecting a total capacity of 6.43
GW over the past three years, Parlia-
ment was informed recently. The
cancellations were attributed to delays
on the part of power developers, not
transmission-related issues.
“Since 2022, Central Transmission
Utility of India Ltd (CTUIL) has re-
voked connectivity of 24 grantees with
a renewable energy capacity of 6,343
MW. The cancellations are on account
of developer delays and not due to
transmission side delays,” Minister of
State for Power Shripad Naik stated in a
written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
He also noted that sixteen petitions are
currently pending before the Central
Electricity
Regulatory
Commission
(CERC), filed by power generators
seeking protection from the revocation
of connectivity.

Rahuri Cleantech Private Limited, a
subsidiary of Bhageria Industries Limit-
ed, has successfully commissioned a 7
MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power
plant at Khanapur in Shevgaon taluka of
Ahilyanagar
district,
Maharashtra,

The project is part of an aggregate 32
MW capacity under the Mukhyamantri
Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY)
2.0, a state initiative aimed at strength-
ening solar-powered agricultural infra-
structure and improving energy access
for rural consumers.
RAHURI CLEANTECH PVT LTD BOOSTS RENEWABLE
PORTFOLIO WITH 7 MW SOLAR PROJECT

TAs India continues to add renewable
energy capacity at a record pace, solar
energy companies are increasingly in-
vesting in Battery Energy Storage Sys-
tems (BESS) manufacturing to address
the growing need for reliable power
storage and grid stability.
Leading solar module manufacturer Wa-
aree Energies has set a target of achiev-
ing 20 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of BESS
capacity by FY28. The planned capacity
will cover the manufacturing of battery
cells, battery packs and utility-scale
BESS containers.
Through its subsidiary, Waaree Energy
Storage Solutions, the company has pro-
posed a capital expenditure of ₹10,000
crore for its battery storage business,
including the establishment of an
₹8,000-crore battery gigafactory in
Andhra Pradesh. Waaree expects to
operationalise 3.5 GWh of BESS pro-
duction capacity by FY27.
Meanwhile, Kolkata-based Vikram So-
lar has outlined plans to build 15 GWh
of BESS capacity by 2030. The compa-
ny will initially focus on assembling
battery packs and containerised energy
storage systems using externally sourc-
ed cells before gradually expanding into
integrated battery cell manufacturing.

Limited) has announced that its wholly
owned subsidiary, GRE Green Energy
Private Limited, has successfully com-
missioned and operationalised a 1.5
MW (AC) / 2.016 MW (DC) solar pow-
er project in Gujarat.
The project is located at Village Indrap
in Becharaji taluka of Mehsana district.
Following requisite approvals and com-
pletion of meter sealing formalities, the
plant commenced power generation, the
company said.
The commissioning certificate from the
Gujarat Energy Development Agency
(GEDA) is currently under process and
is expected to be received in due course.
The company said the project adds to its
growing renewable energy asset base
and strengthens its presence in the solar
power segment.
GRE GREEN ENERGY COMMENCES OPERATIONS
AT SOLAR POWER PROJECT
NEWS
Rosatom State Corporation recently
announced the installation of the Reac-
tor Pressure Vessel (RPV) in Unit 5 of
the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
The Russian state-owned company,
which is the main developer of the Ku-
dankulam nuclear project, said the RPV
installation marks a key milestone in the
construction of the unit.
Reactor Pressure Vessels are large,
high-precision containment structures
that house the reactor core where nucle-
ar fission takes place. They are engi-
neered to withstand extreme tempera-
tures
and
high-pressure
operating
conditions.
According to Rosatom, the RPV for
Unit 5 was installed using the “open
top” method, where heavy equipment is
lowered into the reactor building using
a heavy-duty crane before the contain-
ment dome is erected.

GRE The Central Electricity Regula-
tory Commission (CERC) has approved
a one-time General Network Access
(GNA) relaxation for renewable energy
projects with letters of award (LoAs)
issued between January 2019 and May
2025. The measure is aimed at enabling
the utilisation of nearly 22 GW of
blocked interstate transmission system
(ISTS) renewable capacity for which
power purchase agreements (PPAs)
have not been signed, of which around
6.35 GW is affected by transmission
planning issues. Additionally, renew-
able energy implementing agencies
(REIAs) have informed that PPAs for
2,490 MW may be signed, with discus-
sions currently underway.
Furthermore, the relaxation provides
eligible developers with four one-time
options: exit state-backed LoA with
loosing grid connectivity and move
forward as merchant or independently
contracted projects, replace the stalled
LoA with an active PPA linked to anoth-
er project LoA, surrender the GNA if
the project is no longer being pursued,
or continue under the existing GNA
regulations, subject to applicable regu-
latory requirements, including penalties
and cancellation if project deadlines are
not met.
CERC INTRODUCES ONE-TIME GNA RELAXATION
FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

AMPIN Energy Transition has signed
a power purchase agreement (PPA)
under Solar Energy Corporation of
India Limited (SECI) Tranche VII for
its 199 MW/800 MWh firm and
dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE)
project. The project integrates renew-
able energy with battery energy storage
system. The project was awarded under
SECI’s 1,200 MW/4,800 MWh FDRE
tender, in which AMPIN Energy Utility
Nine, a subsidiary of AMPIN Energy
Transition, secured a capacity at a tariff
of Rs 6.28 per kWh.
Furthermore, the scope of work in-
cludes ensuring a daily supply of 4,000
kWh/MW of contracted capacity during
four peak hours selected by the buying
entity. It also includes identifying the
land, setting up the project, obtaining
statutory approvals, and securing con-
nectivity arrangements with the inter-
state transmission system or state trans-
mission utility.

Q. Elaborate how Balaji Switch-
gears became a leading technology
partner for automation products?
Our journey in automation has been
driven by understanding customer
applications rather than simply supply-
ing products. Over the years, we real-
ised that OEMs, panel builders, and
industries needed a partner who could
help them solve engineering challeng-
es, improve productivity, and build re-
liable electrical systems. This led us to
strengthen our capabilities in industri-
al automation, intelligent motor con-
trol, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, safe-
ty solutions, and energy management.
Today, our role extends beyond
distribution. We support customers
through application engineering, prod-
uct selection, retrofitting, commission-
ing support, and structured AMC ser-
vices. By combining globally recogni-
sed automation technologies with prac-
tical engineering expertise, we help
customers modernise their operations
while ensuring reliability, efficiency,
and long-term performance. I believe
this solution-oriented approach is what
has established Balaji Switchgears as a
trusted technology partner.
Q. What will be the vision and
roadmap of Balaji Switchgears in
automation in the year 2026?
Our vision for 2026 is to accelerate the
adoption of intelligent automation
across Indian industry. As manufactur-
ing moves towards Industry 4.0, digi-
talisation, and energy-efficient opera-
tions, we want to help customers make
this transition in a practical and com-
mercially viable way.
Our roadmap is focused on expanding
automation solutions that integrate in-
telligent switchgear, PLCs, VFDs,
SCADA, IIoT-enabled monitoring,ma-
chine safety, and energy management
into a connected ecosystem. Alongside
new installations, we see significant
opportunities in retrofitting existing
infrastructure with smart technologies
that improve visibility, reliability, and
operational efficiency without major
capital investment.
Equally important will be strengthen-
ing our engineering capabilities, tech-
nical support, and lifecycle services
so that customers receive complete
automation solutions not just individu-
al products.
Q. Briefly describe your view-
point on the role of digital intelli-
gence, the importance of sustainable
growth, and the value of AI-led
transformation in the automation
sector?
From our perspective, digital intelli-
gence is changing automation from
reactive to predictive. Real-time data,
combined with AI, enables industries
to anticipate failures, optimise energy
consumption, improve asset perfor-
mance, and make faster, informed
decisions. The true value of AI lies not
in replacing people, but in helping
them operate more efficiently and
safely.
Sustainable growth is equally import-
ant. Automation today must deliver
higher productivity while reducing
energy
consumption,
waste,
and
carbon emissions. Balaji Switchgears,
helps OEMs and industries adopt prac-
tical automation, intelligent monitor-
ing, and energy-efficient solutions
that improve reliability, support long-
term sustainability, and prepare busi-
nesses for the next generation of smart

Q. SDTRONICS
has
evolved
from a small enterprise into one of
India's trusted automation cable
manufacturers. Could you share the
key milestones that have defined this
journey?
When we started SDTRONICS, the
objective was never to become the
biggest manufacturer. We wanted to
solve a problem. At that time, custom-
ers were dependent on imported
automation cables, which meant long
lead times, high costs, and limited
flexibility. We saw an opportunity to
manufacture these products in India
with the same level of quality while
offering much faster deliveries and
technical support.
One milestone naturally led to another.
We kept expanding our product range
based on customer requirements. From
programming cables, we moved into
servo power and encoder cables, In-
dustrial Ethernet cables, I/O cables,
and customised cable assemblies. We
also invested continuously in our man-
ufacturing capabilities, quality sys-
tems, and testing facilities instead of
chasing rapid expansion.
Another important milestone has been
earning the trust of leading machine
builders and automation companies.
Many of our customers have been
associated with us for years, and that
gives us confidence that we are
moving in the right direction. Today,
SDTRONICS is known not just for
manufacturing cables, but for provid-
ing dependable connectivity solutions
backed by engineering support.
Q. Industrial automation is adv-
ancing rapidly with Industry 4.0,
IIoT, and smart manufacturing.
How is SDTRONICS adapting its
product portfolio to meet these
changing demands?
Industrial automation is evolving very
quickly, but one thing remains con-
stant. Every smart machine depends on
reliable connectivity. That's exactly
where we see our role.
Our focus is on developing products
that support modern automation sys-
tems. We are strengthening our range
of Industrial Ethernet cables for high-
speed industrial communication, ex-
panding our drag chain duty cable port-
folio for demanding motion applica-
tions, and introducing more applica-
tion-specific cable solutions that sim-
plify installation and improve machine
reliability.
We also work very closely with OEMs
and machine builders. Many of our
products are developed after under-
standing a specific application rather
than simply adding another product to
the catalogue. This approach allows us
to deliver practical solutions that help
customers improve performance and
reduce downtime.
Q. Which industry sectors do
you see as the biggest growth oppor-
tunities for SDTRONICS in the
coming years?
India's manufacturing sector is enter-
ing a very exciting phase. Automation
is no longer limited to large factories.
Companies of every size are investing
in smarter machines, better productivi-
ty, and higher efficiency.
For us, factory automation will contin-
ue to be the biggest growth driver.
Along with that, we see tremendous
opportunities in warehousing automa-
tion, robotics, machine tools, packag-
ing machinery, food processing, phar-
maceuticals, electric vehicles, and
renewable energy. All of these indus-
tries require reliable cable solutions
that can perform consistently in dema-
nding operating conditions.
At SDTRONICS, our priority is not to
enter every possible market. We want
to deepen our expertise in automation
and become the first choice whenever a
customer is looking for high-quality
industrial connectivity solutions. We
