• G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for

Coal and Mines, Government of India,

said, "India's mining sector reforms

over the past decade, moving to a trans-

parent, auction-based system for allo-

cating coal and mineral blocks, have

helped bring greater investment, com-

petition and technology into this space,

and ICEMA and its member companies

have been valuable partners in this

journey. The next phase of growth in

mining will be driven by technology,

artificial intelligence, drones, satellite

mapping and modern, mechanised equ-

uipment, and I see this as a significant

opportunity for ICEMA and the entire

construction and mining equipment

industry to deepen its role in India's

mining growth story."

India continues to be the world's third-

largest construction equipment market,

with the sector estimated at USD 10

billion in FY25 and projected to grow to

USD 15 billion by 2030. While the

industry saw a temporary moderation in

FY26 with total equipment sales at

1,36,995 units, a ~2% decline over

FY25, driven by a ~7% dip in domestic

demand amid slower infrastructure

execution exports registered a robust

~32% growth over the same period,

reinforcing the rising global competi-

tiveness of Indian manufactured con-

struction equipment. ICEMA projects

the industry to return to growth in

FY27, supported by the Government's

continued capex push, including a pub-

lic capex outlay of ₹12.2 lakh crore,

faster project execution, and the roll-out

of the CIE Scheme.

The deliberations at the one-day event

concluded that the construction equip-

ment (CE) industry continues to play a

critical role in building the backbone of

India’s economy, with the economic

multiplier effect of infrastructure spend-

ing contributing to strong Q1 FY’27

GDP growth of 7.8%. The proposed

Construction Infrastructure Equipment

(CIE) Scheme is expected to play an

important role in attracting investment,

deepening localisation, and strengthen-

ing India’s capital goods and construc-

tion equipment manufacturing ecosys-

tem. Discussions also highlighted in-

dustry and policy perspectives on trade,

tariffs, and market access, particularly

in the context of the CE industry’s

Vision 2030 target of achieving US$3

billion in exports. Mineral security,

mechanisation, and the need to further

strengthen the domestic mining equip-

ment ecosystem through greater locali-

sation also emerged as key priorities.

ICEMA reiterated its commitment to

working in close partnership with the

Government and its member companies

to strengthen the Construction Equip-

ment industry's contribution to India's

infrastructure-led growth, manufactur-

ing self-reliance and global competi-

tiveness positioning the sector as a crit-

ical enabler of the country's ambition to

become a trillion-dollar manufacturing

economy and a Viksit Bharat by 2047. I

ELECTROMECH INFRAPROJECTS APPOINTS ADNAN ANSARI

TO LEAD DATA CENTRE SOLUTIONS AND GROWTH

appointed Adnan Ansari as AVP – Data

Centre Solutions and Growth. With aro-

und ten years of overall experience,

including eight years dedicated to data

centres across data centre and electrical

construction projects, Adnan will stren-

gthen Electromech's data centre busi-

ness, with a mandate spanning business

development, estimation, client engage-

ment and organisational growth.

Adnan's appointment comes as Electro-

mech continues to expand its capabili-

ties in the data centre segment and build

for the next phase of digital infrastruc-

ture growth in India and international

markets. In his new role, he will work

closely with customers across pre-sales

and technical requirements, commercial

discussions and project estimation,

while also supporting the development

of processes and capabilities required to

scale the business.

Over the course of his career, Adnan has

worked across Daanish Electricals &

Sales Private Limited as a Site

Engi-

neer, Listenlights Pvt. Ltd. as a Project

Engineer, JLL as an Assistant Project

Lead, and NTT Global Data Centers as a

Specialist in Construction Projects. His

experience spans the entire data centre

project lifecycle, from engineering and

procurement to execution, commission-

ing, and customer relationship manage-

ment, enabling him to bring a balanced

and comprehensive perspective to the

role.

ecosystem brings together tyre pro-

duction, carbon black, power, R&D

and testing capabilities. In-house car-

bon black production provides greater

control over a critical raw material,

while mould and drum manufacturing

capabilities strengthen the company’s

control across the production process.

The value of this ecosystem extends

beyond manufacturing efficiency. It

leads to closer coordination between

material development, engineering,

production and validation supports

consistency and enables BKT to

respond effectively to changing appli-

cation requirements. It also provides a

strong foundation for continued inno-

vation and specialised product devel-

opment.

Sustainability as Part of Long-Term

Performance

Sustainability is increasingly becom-

ing part of engineering and manufac-

turing decision-making. BKT has been

increasing the use of renewable raw

materials, recycling more than 98% of

process waste and operating itsinte-

grated carbon black facility at Bhuj as

a zero-liquid-discharge plant. Initia-

tives involving reclaimed rubber,

recycled steel and reused feedstock

further support circularity across the

manufacturing ecosystem.

These efforts demonstrate how envi-

ronmental

considerations

can

incorporated alongside operational

priorities. The efficient resource utili-

sation,

responsible

manufacturing

processes and longer product life can

contribute to both environmental per-

formance

and

stronger

lifecycle

economics.

Collaboration Will Shape the Fu-

ture

The next phase of construction will

require closer collaboration across the

ecosystem. OEMs, tyre manufactur-

ers, technology providers, equipment

operators and other stakeholders each

bring capabilities and insights that can

contribute to better equipment perfor-

mance.

Early engagement with OEMs enables

tyre manufacturers to understand equ-

ipment architecture, operating cycles

and application requirements at an

earlier stage, supporting solutions that

are more closely aligned with the

machinery they are designed for. Tech-

nical expertise also remains important

in ensuring that products are appropri-

ately selected, fitted and maintained

throughout their operating life.

Bauma CONEXPO 2026 provides a

valuable setting for this exchange. For

BKT, the exhibition represents an

opportunity not only to showcase

advanced Off-Highway Tyre solu-

tions, but also to engage with custom-

ers, OEMs and industry stakeholders

on the evolving requirements of

construction and mining equipment.

As India’s infrastructure ambitions

continue to expand, the construction

industry will require solutions that

ciency and sustainability. The next

generation of construction will be

Lubricants derived from hydrocar-

bons have detrimental effects on the

environment, causing significant con-

tamination of soils and groundwater

and accumulating these substances in

plant and animal tissues. As a result,

with extreme uncertainty and insecuri-

ty about the future, there is a growing

recognition of the importance of ESG

(Environmental, Social, and Gover-

nance) principles for sustainable gro-

wth and as a crucial aspect of corpo-

rate management. Climate change has

led to global environmental challenges

like droughts and heavy rainfall,

prompting countries and businesses

worldwide to collaborate in address-

ing these development issues. GS Cal-

tex had set up a dedicated organisation

in 2021 to actively respond to climate

issues. As concerned participants, we

are working on several projects to

develop a roadmap to achieve carbon

neutrality, including finding ways to

reduce greenhouse gases with a long-

term perspective and uncovering busi-

ness opportunities to secure a new

profit pool.

Since 2020, Kixx Lubricants has been

striving to create a more sustainable

future by developing lubricants spe-

cifically designed for eco-friendly

electric

vehicles

and

plant-based

engine oils. Recognising the shifting

preferences of our esteemed OEM

customers, many of whom are transi-

tioning to eco-friendly synthetic lubri-

cants, GS Caltex has embraced inno-

vations in the market. For instance,

Kixx BIO1, a fully synthetic engine

oil produced from plant-based base

oil, caters to environmentally con-

scious drivers seeking performance

and environmental protection. These

new lubricants are part of a carbon-ne-

gative, sustainable base oil category.

Furthermore, efforts to support a circ-

ular economy drive the adoption of

recycled base oil, which can be reused

in specific applications.

Due to stricter emissions norms

setting in, off highway equipment

industry is witnessing fast paced

technology changes as far as Lubri-

cants specifications are concerned.

Increased use of DPF in vehicles has

become common now. The trend in

off-highway equipment lubrication is

shifting towards the increased use of

lower SAPS lubricants as we see a

higher proportion of DPF fitment on

new Stage V equipment which needs

adequate protection. By restricting ash

buildup in DPFs, lower SAPS lubri-

cants can act as catalyst to reduce

unplanned maintenance costs, down-

time and any risk during warranty

period. GS Caltex is partnering with

OEMs in developing High Perfor-

mance Kixx Lubricants in FA4, and

other advanced categories for Indian

market. GS Caltex also has made

consistent R&D efforts to develop

eco-friendly lubricant products that

can maintain engine oil performance.

As a result, hybrid-specific Kixx

HYBRID engine oil was launched in

2020, EV-specific Kixx EV engine oil

was launched in 2021, and ‘Kixx

BIO1’, Korea’s first eco-friendly

engine oil made from plant-based raw

materials, was launched in 2022.

GS Caltex India intends to maintain

the momentum by partnering with off

highway OEMs. Several key initia-

tives are also in pipeline for strength-

ening our Eco-friendly Lubricants

Portfolio across the globe. Manufac-

turers are also focussing on sustain-

ability measures such as recycling and

reuse of industrial lubricants to reduce

carbon footprint. With EPR regime

which has set in from 1st April 2024

for use of recycled plastics and

RRBO, we have fully equipped our-

selves to bring in more value towards

such compliance and there by contrib-

uting to the circularity mission. Lubri-

cant manufacturers also have started

providing onsite and offsite lubricant

recycling equipment and services to

their customers. With the use of

specialty additives and synthetic base

oils, companies are formulating indus-
